Summary

The team developed a RTSA based on a low cost FPGA enabled SDR. The FPGA was augmented with a high-performance real-time FFT that provided 27dB processing gain in less than 83 microseconds. The RTSA operated across a spectrum from 70MHz to 6GHz with a bandwidth of 10MHz. Received I/Q complex data samples were passed through the receive FFT before collected for processing on a GUI deployed on an attached Windows laptop. As an additional feature, the processed data was passed for further processing, via an ML enabled signal detection sub-system. The wideband system had a detection sensitivity in the region of -121dBm with a pre-detection SNR of 10dB.
